Cycling around Santa Barbara

IMG_3764

I started cycling in 2014 with my Cannondale road bike. It has taken me some time to adjust to riding a road bike comfortably. At first it really hurt to ride my bike, but my boyfriend really helped me adjust my bike to fit me right. He also got me a pair of those padded shorts which I now know are a necessity when riding a road bike. I have been tracking my rides on Strava and now I’m averaging around 20-30 miles per ride.

Rincon Classic 2015

This past weekend the Rincon Classic surf competition took place and I headed to the beach to watch and take some pictures. The weather was absolutely beautiful over the weekend and when I got out to Rincon the waves were looking pretty good. This surf competition takes place every year in January and it is always fun to check it out. I was just there on Saturday, but the competition takes place over three days and the finals were on Sunday. For more information on the competition check out RinconClassic.com and continue reading to view the photo gallery!

Gorgeous Sunset at Hendry’s Beach

IMG_3464

One of my favorite places to watch the sunset in Santa Barbara is Hendry’s Beach. Whenever there are unique clouds in the sky I can tell it’s probably going to be an amazing sunset. I always get upset with myself for missing a good sunset so I made sure to head out to the beach to catch this one and I’m so glad I did! The tide was low so the sunset was creating beautiful reflections in the tide pools. The sky looked like a gorgeous painting. I’m sure you will probably see more posts like this on my blog, but I hope you enjoy them!

My Winter Trip to Washington and Idaho

[fusion_text]Over the holidays I took a trip with my boyfriend to visit his mom in Liberty Lake in Eastern Washington and we also got to spend a few days snowboarding at Silver Mountain in Kellogg, Idaho. I had taken a trip to Seattle a few years ago, but this was my first trip to Liberty Lake which is a small town just outside of Spokane. I was very excited about the idea of having a white Christmas since snow was in the forecast during our trip! After spending some time in Liberty Lake finishing up holiday shopping, building Sim Cities and enjoying delicious egg nog with whisky #noglife!! We drove out to Silver Mountain on Christmas Eve. Silver Mountain is about an hour East of Liberty Lake. As we crossed into Idaho I was very excited to see snow on the ground and as we continued to drive up to the ski resort the snow started falling!
